From the Desk of April Schiff
Hillsborough State Committeewoman

I am honored to have been elected as the Republican State Committeewoman (SCW) for Hillsborough County!   I thank each of you for voting for me and for your support.  Now let’s work together to get our party back to Growing & Winning

Since taking office on December 1, 2020, it has been extremely busy and there is a lot of work to be done.

Hillsborough Republican Executive Committee (REC)

Take action!   Join the REC!!  The Hillsborough REC membership is designed to be multiple people from each precinct in the county who volunteer as party leaders; there are currently openings in many precincts for new members. We need you to join the REC so we can continue to grow our party and work to win Elections!

More information here:  https://www.hillsborough.gop/join_the_rec

The Hillsborough REC meets on the third Thursday of each month, currently at The Loft Event Lounge, 917 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL at 6:30 p.m.   Please attend an upcoming meeting as our guest.

Republican Party of Florida – December Quarterly Meeting

We are truly blessed to have such a great Governor! Please make sure you spread the word regarding what a great job Governor DeSantis is doing and let’s help Governor DeSantis achieve his goals for our State and get him re-elected in 2022!

On December 15th we travelled to Tallahassee for the Quarterly Meeting of the RPOF State Executive Committee. This was an orientation meeting and we learned a great deal about our job responsibilities and the operations of the RPOF. We were honored to attend a beautiful reception at the Governor’s Mansion. Our great Governor DeSantis treated us to a beautiful breakfast buffet on a crisp sunny morning. During remarks he commented on the great work Republicans did in securing successful November 4th elections on a statewide basis including delivering Florida for President Trump. The leadership team from RPOF worked diligently to gain seats in both the State House and State Senate.

Congressman Byron Donalds will do a great job!

Republican Party of Florida – January Annual Meeting

January 15th we travelled to Orlando for the Annual meeting of the RPOF. It was an awesome weekend seeing old friends and making new ones. Chairman Gruters, Vice Chair Christian Zeigler and the entire Executive Board were re-elected unanimously without challenge, a testament to the victories in the 2020 election cycle.

We were honored to hear from Governor Ron DeSantis, Lt. Governor Jeanette Nunez, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, Senator Marco Rubio, Congressmen Michael Waltz, Matt Gaetz, Byron Donalds, Florida Senate President Wilton Simpson, Florida Speaker of the House Chris Sprowls, Republican National Committeeman Peter Feaman, Republican National Committeewoman Kathleen King. From Governor DeSantis “Republicans are looking to the state of Florida for leadership because we did what we needed to do across the board, not only winning a strong 400,000 vote margin for the President, we were also able to win 2 seats in the Congress defeating Democratic incumbents who were not doing a good job. We gained seats in the State House and we gained seats in the State Senate as well. We did that while running the probably the most efficient and transparent election anywhere in the country.”

Top priorities of the RPOF in 2021/22 include redistricting following the census as well as a strong voter registration effort. Additionally, Governor DeSantis has led an astounding effort to vaccinate our seniors and essential workers against COVID. He is working daily to expand the vaccination opportunities and will not cease until all who want the vaccine have received it.

We are in great hands with our Governor and our state leadership team.

I had the honor of joining Senator Rubio for a roundtable discussion. Senator Rubio is up for the fight in DC and will represent his constituents admirably. He is ready for the re-election campaign in 2022 and is working to help us retain and recruit more Republicans.

AROUND THE COUNTY

The Tampa Bay Young Republicans met and elected its Board of Directors (photo above) to lead them through the 2022 election cycle.  I was honored to speak at the TBYR recent meeting and I must say the future of our party is bright with this enthusiastic group of great young Americans.

I was invited to speak at the North Hillsborough Republican Club where I shared my vision for Growing & Winning!  There were so many solid Republicans in attendance I encouraged them to continue their good work and to join both the REC and the HLC.

I visited the Sun City Republican Club where nearly 60 people showed up to socialize and listen to our message of turning our County around and getting back to Growing & Winning!
